Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is once again in the spotlight, this time due to a significant cast change. Palak Sindhwani, who portrayed Sonu Bhide, recently made an abrupt and controversial departure from the show. The production team has now confirmed that Khushi Mali will be stepping into the role.
Palak Sindhwani’s exit has been anything but amicable. She revealed that the production team accused her of violating her contract by participating in brand endorsements. However, Palak denied these allegations, citing a difficult work environment and even experiencing panic attacks on set. She further claimed that the team deliberately made conditions hostile after she expressed her intent to leave.
Khushi Mali becomes the fourth actress to play Sonu in the show’s long-running history, following Jheel Mehta, Nidhi Bhanushali, and Palak Sindhwani. Fans are eager to see how she brings her own touch to the beloved character.
While TMKOC continues to be a household favorite, recent controversies have cast a shadow over its reputation. Several former cast members have spoken out against producer Asit Kumarr Modi, with allegations ranging from delayed payments to workplace mistreatment. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played Mrs. Roshan Sodhi, even accused the producer of sexual harassment.
Despite these ongoing issues, TMKOC is pushing forward with its latest casting change. Announcing the news on social media, the production team wrote, “Join us in warmly welcoming Khushi Mali as the new Sonu Bhide in the TMKOC family! Get ready to see her light up Gokuldham with her energy and charm. Watch her journey unfold from Monday, 7th October 2024, at 8:30 PM, only on Sony SAB!”
